OVM Successfully Completed the Installation Services of hangers and tie cables for Gaoqing-shanghe Yellow River Bridge

 

Recently, the OVM team has successfully completed the critical task of hangers and tie cables installation and tensioning for the Gaoqing-shanghe Yellow River Bridge, achieving the system - conversion from the temporary support to the arch rib load - bearing. This has laid a solid foundation for the bridge's completion and opening to traffic in 2025.

The Gaoqing-shanghe Yellow River Bridge is 3,425m long, with the main bridge being 915m long. The span arranged as (190 + 260 + 260 + 190)m. It adopts an arch - beam separation and arch - pier solid - joint structural system, with the bridge deck system using a semi - floating four - arch continuous unequal - span through - type steel - tube concrete tied arch bridge. It combines structural strength with aesthetic value and has set "four firsts":

To withstand the Yellow River's corrosive environment, the components were built for durability, strength, and precision. Tie cables were made of 1860MPa steel strands, coated with epoxy resin and protected by HDPE sheathing, aiming for a 50 - year lifespan. Hangers, made of 1960MPa galvanized steel wires, offered higher tensile strength, reducing wire usage and structural weight while enhancing load capacity. They passed a 2 - million - cycle fatigue test and featured a corrosion - proof design for over 50 years of service.
